Very nice blog, but you guys could have prevented SO MUCH of the rumours by simply taking 5 minutes to tell us you have read our concerns and there will be a update within a few weaks. The total radio silence didnt make any sense at all.
That being said, the blog answers most of the questions we've had during the last week. Nice to see you guys read the forums because i was beginning to doubt you cared, frankly. --- The Eve Wiki Project |

VCTI people are actually GOOD for the game. Its when players sit quietly and dont care about the future of the game that the devs should get worried. I know im guilty of alot of whining about Kali, but I think my whining has contributed to this detailed dev blog. --- The Eve Wiki Project |

All i meant was that its important to actually whine about things you feel is wrong. I dont care if its me whining or somebody else. There is no way you will be able to change something by sitting quiet in a corner and hope for the best. Whining is a good thing if its motivated by real concerns. It might not make someone Mr Popular, but im not trying to be. I will always say what i think about the game and you are free to disagree or agree with me.

For one thing, you don't have to whine. You can state your complaints reasonably, justify them in depth and then say "look CCP, here's my opinion laid out all nicely and politely". You can be plenty forceful while doing this without being rude or annoying.
Im never rude and I agree there is no need for that. Stating my complaints reasonably is what i think ive done actually. Me (and many others) have mostly complained about the total lack of current information about Kali, something that was very valid and hence we now have a blog about it. If there would have been 1 little thread about this in the whole week, there is no way it would have gotten attention from the devs. Same thing if someone typed together a well written post with just alot of /signed in it. Remember i didnt do this alone, or even start it.
I understand that you might have written your posts a little different, but we all think & behave different. I think my way of doing things worked well.
Final result of all this is an excellent dev blog and hopefully some more communication with us in the future.

It does sound like it will be alot better than TS/vent. There will be a free trial version. Chances are, if you find it to be very good, others will too, and they will use it.
I think mostly 0.0 people will have the need for it though. Even though it might be cool to talk while mining in empire too i guess. --- The Eve Wiki Project |

I was thinking this too. But i understand it if these things are true. Seems to be a very big difference between what the older players want and what ccp are planning.
For me personally, i think new ships are great since I havent been here that long and havent really worked for anything yet. But i would definently be angry if I had invested alot in a game that doesnt turn out to be what was promised years ago.
CCP plans and players expectations are not in sync...

This seems funny in retrospect, since Oveur made it worse.

Originally by: Redundancy To be perfectly honest, I've felt like a demonized punching bag for the last week. I'm pretty used to harsh criticism about features, ideas, and speculation that usually involves us intentionally designing features in the way that person hates most, but those bitter posts about us only being in it for the money, not caring about Eve etc are always incredibly painful to read.
Sometimes its easy to forget you guys are normal human beings. Its very easy to just type anything without considering that you devs actually read this...
I think we all love this game so much that the feelings get too strong sometimes. --- The Eve Wiki Project |

This is from the dev blog:
"It's really simple at its core. If EVE is successful in China, the revenue which would become available to fuel the evolution of EVE would skyrocket."
I think its stupid to still go on about it being for the money. The comment that Redundancy made should make it bloody obvious he feels alot for the game.

The split shard is because of technical and political reasons. It doesnt have anything to do with love for the game. You cant stand by your original ideas if they cant be done within reasonable technical efforts. I understand that you are disappointed but dont attack the devs personally please. At least I would prefer you didnt since I already feel bad for bashing them the whole week about not commenting on Kali...

Its much easier to critique than compliment, especially on the internet. No one doubts you love eve and working for ccp.
Actually there have been lots of lots of posts during the last week where people have been expressing feelings that ccp are only in this for the money. I should know because i read everything from work. Not until redundancy made his comment did i fully understand how what we write on these forums affect them.
I wonder how it feels to come to work every day and maybe start the day browsing the forums and see what people think about the game they are creating.
Oveur was probably happy when he posted that dev blog and was looking forward to positive reactions now that he finally had lots of information to share. Tomorrow when he comes to work he will see these posts and probably feel the same way Redundancy did.
I dont know, i just feel really bad over this whole thing.

Im more interested in if there is any lists of bugs that needs testing, because id rather help try to fix them than whine some more.
As soon as the next patch hits the test server, i would really like if there was a list of issues that needed testing. I have a few bugs ive discovered on Tranquility and ill try to reproduce them on the test server. But i need to know what the devs are already aware of.

Nawty language alert... but funny. I would most definently feel like this as a mmo developer, so give them a break.
